She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengthens her arms
I remember over my “rurachio” some few years back, my mama telling me, “Mwanamke ni kujifunga mshipi kwa tumbo“. I.e. a woman has to gird her loins with a tight rope -figuratively meaning strength.
In the olden days, for a woman to dig through her land without feeling any hunger pangs, she would tie a tight rope round her tummy. Apparently it worked. How? I am yet to find out.
A woman girds her loins with strength, and she willingly does so for the sake of her family.
There will be days when you have to ‘dig through your land’.
There will be days when you have persevere and persist until you have accomplished what you want God to do in your family and in your life, and you cannot do so without strength.
Take for instance, your husband has to be away for a couple of years to work in a foreign land, and you have 2, 3 kids.
Will you deny him the chance?
There might be a leeway and he could take you along, but if there’s no way out, you take your position, and protect your family, firmly with the strength of the Lord.
You get up, gird you loins, support his dreams, and support your kids too. A time will come when he will support you too for being his encouragement.
It is not easy, and that is why God made Us so. We are full of grace to handle anything. We can be bent but never broken. Of course putting a tight rope around your waist isn’t an easy thing, and that is why it’s referred to as strength.
It just doesn’t come. You willingly have to gird your loins with strength.
There are times you will painfully have to rename anything calling itself “sorrow” to “strength.” Call any bad situation “happy”.
There will be times you will have to dance in the rain and find strength in the storm. That is the strength of a woman.
Her strength comes from the Lord and she faints not, believing that she will see the goodness of the Lord some day.
More so our strength is not physical. It is spiritual. You will have to wage war spiritually over anything that is a threat to your family!
There will be days, actually everyday, you will have tell the devil “Enough is enough!”
“No more sickness, No more tears, No more deaths, No more delays, No more miscarriages, No more straying of my husband! No more side plates in my marriage! No more devil! No more!” In Jesus name!
“My husband is protected by Christ!”
“My children are blessed”, “My business will thrive”, “No more debts”, “No more rejection”, “No flirting”, “No straying”, “No wandering eyes”! “No more!”
As a woman, you fight your battles on your knees. Not in abuses. Not in making inflammatory remarks. Not in bickering.
It is in prayer. Fervent prayer. In prayer, you gird your loins, and strengthen your arms for battle. It’s he Lord teaches us how to bend the bow.
You don’t give up, you don’t give in. You don’t yield! Gird your loins my sister. You have to willingly do it! Be bold and courageous! Do not fear.
Strengthen yourself because you are or will be the greatest pillar of your family.
The second part is this, you need to continuously improve yourself. A virtuous woman does not bury her talents or strength.
She multiplies what she has; she just doesn’t sit down and wait.
She does what is necessary.
Strengthen your husband, strengthen your children! Strengthen yourself in the Lord!
Remember, a wide mouth, with empty words, never wins any battle, but knees so sore, from kneeling before the Lord do!
