Throughout my upbringing, I saw mam wake up at 4 am and pray…like seriously praying before preparing us to school, and praying for us again.
My siblings and I sort of made fun of her because she used to start with the same line she composed everyday.
Ooohhh Hallelujah… Ohhh Hallelujah… Hallelujah.. Ohhhh Hallelujah…Hallelujah..Ohhh Hallelujah, niwagerire, ngaaaaaiiiii… Ngaiiiii… Ngai fafa… Gutire ungi tawe… Gutire… We mutheru… We mutheru.…and the… song continues before she prays… AT 4 AM!
It was to extol the Lord but then our little young minds were so ignorant…couldn’t see the importance of any of it…just that “mam prays alot”…
Fast forward years down, I began to understand the power of prayer in my life and the direction it bears in the relationships I had.
From the friends I had then, to the man I would have wished to spend my life with.
I always said, “Lord ripple the waters!” I had to get rid of anything dragging me down and in prayer that’s where all could happen.
Fast forward again, married, and happily married at that, but you can never and should never be ignorant of the schemes of the devil.
Don’t be a fool to think that “ohhh I am safe”.
No my sister you aren’t as long as the enemy is still roaming in this world looking for a person to devour.
You are safe only in prayer. Hide your marriage in the Lord Jesus!
There are way too many temptations in the world and the devil cannot wait for any opportunity to bring a marriage down.
He loves it!
Pray and be watchful! As the Bible says in Luke 22:40.
While you might not tether your husband, prayer is the ONLY TOOL that the Lord will use to quench the desires of the flesh, make him and teach him to be like Christ, dismiss all voices in the world that say “if you need to have a mpango wa kando (stepping out of your marriage), use a condom”, and have the greatest resolve to say No!
No every approach no matter how alluring it is.
If you haven’t started gal, get on your knees my sister!
Trust me, the Lord hears the cry of our hearts! Be a prayerful wife!!!
