This is the day that the Lord has made that we shall rejoice and be glad in it.
The past week has been busy yet fruitful. I thank God for His abundant grace and kindness towards me and my amazing family.
Well, i have been asked so many questions of which i will try as much as possible with the – help of God, to answer them candidly and openly, my base being the word of the Lord.
So for this coming week, the Lord has impressed on us to begin a wonderful series to the singles.
I do pray that you will be blessed and pick what can help you in your journey.
Lets first of all look at the word of the Lord from Mark 11.
#Mark 11:12 -14
As Jesus and His disciples were traveling from Bethany to Jerusalem the day after His triumphal entry into Jerusalem, Jesus saw a fig tree having leaves, but up on closer inspection He saw it had no fruit “ for it was not the season for figs”
As a result, Jesus cursed the fig tree saying, “Let no one eat fruit from you ever again ”
Paul tells us to walk in the Spirit, and we will bear the fruit of the Spirit: “love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control.”
The fig tree had leaves.I presume the leaves were broad and so green, and from far, it looked as if it had fruits. But upon checking, Jesus found out that it did not have any fruit. Not even one.
I can imagine His disappointment. He was tired and hungry, but all it could offer was a pretty shade, and no fruit to fill His hunger.
Unfortunately, that’s how most single men and ladies are today.
Looking pretty on the outside, made up, clothed, but have no fruit to show.
No love, no joy, no peace, no forbearance, no self-control. No fruit to bear.
The Bible says in Psalm 1 that the blessed man [includes a woman too] is LIKE a tree planted by the water. He bears fruits in and out of season.
He [she] never goes dry.
Unfortunately, out of desperation, loneliness, covering up a pregnancy, pressure from the society and family, they succumb and SETTLE. Without guidance, without prayer, without confirmation, without being sure of the responsibility at hand, they settle.
They settle with a myriad of expectations, broken and void, expecting this person to fill up the vacuum that he/she feels inside.
They join themselves in marriage instead of God joining them in marriage.
The Lord hates divorce, but what happens if you “joined yourself in marriage?”
You see divorce is just a by product of THINGS GONE WRONG IN A MARRIAGE.
So Miss, and Mr. Before YOU DO, DO A LOT OF HOMEWORK, AND DO WORK ON YOURSELF FIRST!
It’s not wrong to be single. You do have a purpose that God created you for.
Singleness is gift from the Lord, of which many miss the opportunity of discovering their GOD GIVEN PURPOSE in pursuit of relationships that are clearly headed south…
Just because everyone is having selfies with their boyfriends!
Listen, you know, truly, and well that that the relationship you have is not godly, it’s not ending in marriage, it’s draining you rather than add value to you, it’s costing your dignity and pride, yet you hold on out of fear of being alone.
Enough said for today…
Lets walk together…Don’t miss!
BEFORE YOU COMMIT…DO!
