DAY 10 – COUPLES SWORD CHALLENGE

Day 10

That we would serve each other and be hospitable.

Show hospitality to one another without grumbling.

1st Peter 4:9

Have you ever got home and was so tired that you don’t want to do anything?

We all have those moments, where you just need your own time to re-charge. By time, I don’t mean being away from your family. {I mean, taking a few hours to either walk, sleep, or indulge in what you love most.}

It’s healthy and a break from the bustle of life serves as a refreshment. But then, think about marriage?

Is there a time that you can decide to “take a break” from serving your spouse? The truth is, No. Marriage continues, in good or bad times. Marriage continues on, and in serving we deposit in their love bank account!

The joy of marriage is in giving. The Lord has taught us to give and give for it’s more blessed to give than to receive.

Marriage becomes enjoyable if couples become the other-person-centered.

Marriage becomes enjoyable if we rid out all self-centeredness and concentrate on our spouses and in their needs.

Do not be tempted to feed your spouse your “marriage diet”. It won’t work. Give to your spouse what they need the most, not what you need.

Lord Jesus,

We come before you boldly at your throne of mercy.

Lord there are many times our selfish selves get in the way of serving our spouses.

We give them what we need the most and neglect their needs. Forgive us Lord and Help us to serve our spouses with a joyous heart. Help us to treat them right.

Help us to love them unreservedly and serve them without grumbling.

Teach us to server one another and be happy in giving.

In Jesus name.

Amen
