DAY 13 – COUPLES SWORD CHALLENGE

Day 13

That we would bear each other’s burdens.

Bear one another burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

Galatians 6:2

One of the fruits of the Holy Spirit is forbearance. Love bears each other’s burdens without questioning.

When you bear each other’s burdens, you “conceal” each other from the eminent shame that could befall your spouse, probably from the weight of what they carry.

You take their cup and drink from it. You sacrifice a great deal, much more than you could have ever sacrificed when alone.

What is your partner battling with that you can help out?

Are you reaching out to your spouse?

Are you a supportive wife, or do you put every vision your husband has in the name of realism?

Jesus bore our burdens yet he deserved none of it. He’s perfect and we are too imperfect to warrant the mercies of a holy Lord, yet He bore our sins.

Our marriages should be more like Christ and less of us even though at times we still soup back to our SELVES.

Be each other’s burden bearer.

Lord Jesus,

Thank you for bearing all my sins and shame at the cross. You took my failures and frailties. You too my death penalty and wrote it off. You imputed your righteousness on me, and now I can body approach your throne of mercy and grace.

Help us to bear each other’s burdens. Help us to love deeply like you. Help us to make our spouses lives easier, by always covering their inadequacy.

Help us to bear each other’s burdens with love, even if it might not be so sweet to us.

In Jesus name,

Amen.
