I would have fainted if not for Jesus. I would be long gone if not for my Savior.
Stuck between two death traps, the self and the world, surrounded by darkness, covered in filth, suffocated by the breath of sin, pressed down by guilt, covered in shame, I would be a walking corpse if Jesus didn’t save me.
But then Love found me.
When I couldn’t look at myself in the mirror, He called me beautiful.
When I was ashamed of my scars, He embraced them.
When I didn’t have anyone fighting for me, He became my advocate.
When no one sympathized with me, He understood my weaknesses.
When the hideousness of sin threatened to overpower me, He became the lifter of my head.
When I couldn’t pay the price of sin, He died for me.
Jesus my beautifier, took away my shame!
Jesus MY IDENTITY!
