DAY 12: TEASE HIM
D.I.Y: Send him crazy faces and texts the whole day. Lovie dovie and mushy mushy texts would add some gist too!
Go point: Be playful with him! – I mean it!
Have you seen funny memes that go around the social media jeering married couples? That they get to weather beaten, jaded and worn out by the whole marriage life.
It’s true to some extent. Because we put so much effort when dating each other, we put our best foot forward in almost everything, from how we look, to what we say, yet never do the same once married. We settle down – like literally. Yet marriage should gear us to be better every day.
We quit looking good for our husbands. We quit being playful and fun. We pull weaves that smell on them. We junk ourselves crazy. We change what we put on. We quit smelling good and blame it on being a mother and taking care of the baby. Yes, I do get all that. Motherhood is hard work, but remember that you have a husband too! Plus you body is the temple of the Holy Spirit – taking care of yourself is godly!
You don’t need to go all crazy with makeup, but you need to still be neat, kept and attractive to your husband and yes, still playful. Yes, you could have a tummy now – I know because my abs too were washed away by motherhood, but I love my new found tummy curves. Dress it, love it, show it off for him.
We get too serious with our husbands, yet they need our playful side too.
He tries tickle you, you push him aside. He tries picking you up, you complain that you too heavy –did he complain really? He just wanted his little girl around! Some of you cannot even smile back when he tries smiling- after all, he should understand how tired you are. Right? Yes, we get tired, but occasional coaxing in the house eases a lot of tension and its good for both of you.
Run around in the house together, play hide-and-seek, peek a boo, jump on his back, dance on his lap! Laugh around, Be playful! It doesn’t need to be sexual in any way. Just reaching out to the little man in him that still needs his little girl.
VERSE OF THE DAY: Proverbs 17:22 A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
Today I want to be a little girl to my husband. The girl who laughs and loves big. The girl who enjoys her husband’s company and is glad. The gild who is energized by her husband’s presence.
Help me not to get overly serious with him. Help me reach out to his playful side by being playful and fun too. Lord I do not want a normal marriage; I want a great marriage fueled by you Lord. Give us ways of having fun with each other that will leave us both invigorated and fulfilled.
In Jesus name I pray.
