28 DAYS OF APPRECIATION – DAY 3

Action: Thank her for Following your Lead

Launchpad: Has she followed your lead? Is she behind you? Is she your number one fan?
Does she help you in decision making? Are her ideas worth it? Has she blended her expectations with yours? Thank her for these!

God has bestowed upon us men the sceptre of leadership in the family. This noble calling requires sobriety and uttermost commitment. Leadership comes with the responsibility to lead well. Abuse of which will lead to do a lofty contemptuousness.

When the Lord is our shepherd, He leads us to green pastures, making us lie therein. He restores our souls, He wades every element of fear in the face of adversaries.
That should be our attitude towards leadership in our families. We ought to lead our wives to places of comfort and rest. We are beseeched to offer them peace and tranquility. The world is harsh out there. We are obligated to secure them safely in our palaces. That’s true leadership.

To lead is not to command.
A leader listens and is accommodative.
A commander gives orders that must be followed, failure to which there will be consequences.

A leader understands that not every day is the same. A leader bends. A leader leads from the front. A leader covers. A leader gives his all.

Your wife will follow your lead if you lead well. She won’t struggle to muster every effort towards achieving your mission.

Women thrive in an environment that appreciates them as equal partners in the endeavor. They love being listened to. They love feeling needed.

Let me pose this question to you today; do you decide on your own and later tell your wife or do you sit down together and mutually agree of an issue? If you are the former, be accommodative, if you are the latter, keep it going.

Bible Verses:
1 Cor 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman [is] the man; and the head of Christ [is] God.
1 Pet 3:7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with [them] according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

Prayer:
Dear Lord, it’s by your grace that I am who I am today. May you add to me knowledge, wisdom and understanding of how to lead my family. I pray to you that my strength won’t fail me, neither will I grow weary in doing good.
May I lead my family as your Word prescribes.
In Jesus Name I pray.
Amen.
