I woke up thinking about honor.
Honor from children to their parents.
Honor of wives to their husbands.
Honor of husbands to their wives and the list goes on and on.
But today my heart literally grieved for women who think submitting to their husbands means being subservient or traditional.
It’s sad how the devil can use our traditions to limit us from understanding the depth of God’s word, so, we run to cleave to what suits our aching pride then rather than gleaning from the timeless truths of God’s word.
I will never stop preaching about submission since I have been on the spectrum of both sides.
Standing high heel tall on my pedestal of independence and “empowerment” in my marriage and really stepping down to serve my husband as God intended for me to do.
You know what, there’s no one as lonely as a person who serves himself or herself.
Am not talking about abuse of power, am talking about honouring God by honouring my husband.
Just because I line under his leadership, my husband’s leadership, doesn’t make me weak. As a matter of truth, I have flourished under him because God intended from the get go for a man to cultivate whatever his hands found to do.
In simple terms, submission is actually power under control.
So to all the women who think submission is anachronistic, I pray for understanding from above.
If you knew your power through the conduit of control who is Jesus Christ, the word, you would be scared of yourself too. Your power can make or break.
The question is, who is your conduit?
Proverbs 12:4 calls us as wives, our husband’s crown.
We not only decorate but give meaning to our husband’s kingship. A king is not one without a crown. Our beings were designed to transform.
There is freedom in knowing that our God has His purposes in making us as women.
Freedom doesn’t mean that everything should bend at our beck and call.
A wise woman knows that she doesn’t need to warp spiritual realities to fit her needs and desires.
You want to impact? Then shock the world and be what you were made to be: a fearless, unshakable, unflappable, God-fearing woman.
Do not abandon the very differences that make you essential. We don’t build a marriage on human ideologies, we build a marriage on God’s word. It’s the only tested true anchor.
True freedom is in God. Greatness is shown in servant-hood.
Submission as wives in Christ…
