In Marriage Matters, Our Journey, Reflections of My Soul

THE POWER TO ALLURE

The other day I was in our bedroom after putting our little ones to sleep.
My hubby was clearing somethings in the living room.
I felt the need to pull a sexy card on him.
You know… “allllluring card.”

I went Arabian night. I was so confident that that would get him!

I sent the picture below via WhatsApp.

His response: Baeby, are you alright?

Me: yeeey bae, I am. You can’t see anything?Aha! Aha!

Him: Ehhh…. you are covered with a MASAI leso? The bedroom is cold?

Me: Lord! Am not alluring? 😅😅😅

Him: Let’s just say, you are still doing good, considering the circumstances. Was it supposed to send a message?

Me: 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺

THE END.

Esther 8: 3-8

Then Esther spoke again to the king. She fell at his feet and wept and pleaded with him to avert the evil plan of Haman the Agagite and the plot that he had devised against the Jews.

When the king held out the golden scepter to Esther, Esther rose and stood before the king.

And she said, “If it please the king, and if I have found favor in his sight, and if the thing seems right before the king, and I am pleasing in his eyes, let an order be written to revoke the letters devised by Haman the Agagite, the son of Hammedatha, which he wrote to destroy the Jews who are in all the provinces of the king.

For how can I bear to see the calamity that is coming to my people? Or how can I bear to see the destruction of my kindred?”

Then King Ahasuerus said to Queen Esther and to Mordecai the Jew, “Behold, I have given Esther the house of Haman, and they have hanged him on the gallows, because he intended to lay hands on the Jews.

But you may write as you please with regard to the Jews, in the name of the king, and seal it with the king’s ring, for an edict written in the name of the king and sealed with the king’s ring cannot be revoked.”

How broken was the King’s heart!

How drawn was he to Esther!

How appropriate was that time! God clearly had ordered her steps. For the steps of a righteous man are ordered by the Lord and He takes delight in them – Psalms 37:23

Esther fell at the King’s feet, wept, pleaded and drew his heart towards hers!

The King’s heart was broken and was drawn to Esther more than ever! Esther was a woman who put her power into good use!

Her influence, brought glory to God unlike the strange woman in the book of Proverbs, and Delilah.

I think the Masai leso didn’t put my A game on as I hoped it would…but it got me thinking.

How am I using my power as a woman? The power to allure?

How are you using your power to allure?

Are people drawn to Christ because of your beautiful heart?

Is your husband pulled towards you or does your constant prodding make his soul sick?

Does your husband’s heart rest in you?

Do your children call you blessed?

Can people look at you and call you blessed?

Do you walk with dignity and character?

Is your heart attuned to Christ more than the SELF?

We all have the power to allure as women, but how you choose to put it into work is purely ones prerogative.

You can either choose to pull people to Christ and if you are married, to draw your husband and children to Christ and the result is having a marriage sustained by the Lord for His glory – or – you can turn yourself into the strange woman.

The power to allure is not just about the sexual connotation that’s portrayed by the strange woman. It’s sublime and calm in nature.

It’s a power that draws in without necessarily exposing ones nakedness – for attention.

It doesn’t seek attention, it seeks retention!

It’s a power engraved in a strong sense of character, molded by the Lord, directed by the Lord, for the Lord.

The Bible says in Proverbs 31:30

Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

This beauty fades, but a woman with an inner beauty keeps drawing others and her family in, with the sublimity of Christ.

Her alluring nature is just but the fragrance of Christ!

She is the one who deserves praise. She is the one who deserves it all!

Ask yourself, do you use the Power of alluring correctly? Who gives you your fragrance? Is it the world and it’s vanity, or is it Christ and His eternity?
