Action: Submit to God
Launchpad: My dear brethren, a man under authority is a man with authority.
Look at Jesus, where did He get His authority from? Where was His source of power?
It was in His submission to God the Father.
Nothing He did was for Himself. He sought to do the will of the Father, read John 5:30.
Even when faced by death, He asked that His Father’s will be done and not his own. What a man! He knew He had so much power but still submitted to His higher authority!
That’s the attitude we need to cultivate in our minds; to submit to the will of God.
Submitting is relegating your position for another. It means to yield to the control of someone or something else.
It’s not easy for a man to yield control to another.
But easy things are for the weak.
The Bible says that a man governed by flesh is hostile to God (or cannot submit to God); the flesh can’t submit to God’s Law (Romans 8:7).
That is why we need to subject it to the obedience of Christ by putting Him on daily.
Only then can the good, pleasing and perfect will of God be fulfilled in our lives.
Yielding means, ‘I think I can handle this but I will let you handle it for me.’
Submit to God your will, passions, desires, thoughts, ways, plans, ministry, life, family, emotions, body, beliefs and all other facets of your being.
Let Him take control of your life and lead you.
He will make you lie down in green pastures.
Leading you by the still waters, prospering and establishing your plans.
You want your wife to be submissive? Why don’t you be the first to submit to God and let Him mould you and her also?
When you submit to God, the authority that He bestowed on you is affirmed and empowered.
You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.
You will walk and not grow weary, run and shall not faint.
You shall fly high like an eagle.
Your name shall be remembered.
You shall do exploits in this land of the living.
This is just a tip of the iceberg of what God has in store for those who love Him.
Bible Verse:
Job 22:21; Submit to God and be at peace with Him, in this way prosperity will come to you.
My Father, my God, my Lord, I commit myself to you. I recognise and acknowledge that you are my creator and my Lord. I commit my life to you. Guide me and mould me to what you want me to be. I submit myself to you. Be my Lord and my God.
In Jesus Name I pray.
