Jeremiah 17:9-10

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

The enemy has done quite a thorough job on us. Let’s not kid ourselves. He was His creation before God formed man. He has lived for very many years. The Bible refers to him as the “ancient serpent, called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray” Revelation 12:9.

He had the audacity to tempt Christ, the son of God to bowing before him to gain power and wealth, as though He forgot that the creation, and everything in it belongs to the Lord, Psalm 24:1. Even he, was subject to Christ’s command.

He tempted Christ three times, and three times he failed, but the bible says, “he went away as he waited for an opportune time.” Luke 4:13

Now, the devil is very opportunistic. He knows when we are vulnerable and weak. It doesn’t mean that vulnerability strikes one when in lacks, by all means, sin morphs to suit our situations.

Let’s not forget that vulnerability can be at a point of plenty too, when we are most jovial and our emotions are running amok with excitement.

We are not immune to the deceitfulness of sin, we are not too special not to fall. Lest we forget, the Bible declares this, “If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall.”_1st Corinthians 10:12.

In other words Paul says, do not be so naive and self-confident. You’re not exempt. You could fall flat on your face as easily as anyone else. Forget about self-confidence; it’s useless. Cultivate God-confidence.

It doesn’t matter how “strong” our husbands seems to be. It doesn’t matter if they are average, or below acceptable standards. Sin’s deceitfulness will morph to entice one on.

The devil has an arrow for one husband, a a dart for another, a spear for another, yet, with the same consequences, to steal, kill and destroy your husband _John 10:10. That’s his sole mission on earth that keeps him wide awake, prowling around day and night, roaring like a lion, looking for your husband to devour_1st Peter 5:8.

He knows that when the shepherd is struck, the sheep will scatter_Zechariah 13:7_ your marriage, your children, your godly seed, your confidence, your covering, all that partains to a godly marriage.

We need to pray that our husbands will discern the deceitfulness of sin and flee all forms of temptations or evil. It doesn’t matter if the whole world does what is normal to the world, if God is against it, then He is the majority.

We need to pray that our husbands will be guarded against doubting that God has the best interest towards them. The devil will work hard to slither his famous line into their minds, “did God really say so”, but we must take power and authority against all his schemes [2nd Corinthians 2:11] towards our husbands and appearances as an angel of light [2nd Corinthians 11:14-15].

No matter what we say, no matter how technology advances, no matter how lofty we feel in our own self-righteous cocoons, no matter how far advanced we get in human research, no matter how much we study and acquire accolades in our pursuit of knowledge, the WORD OF GOD stands true.

It doesn’t change, it doesn’t alter, it doesn’t shift ground, it doesn’t have any fault lines, nor any point to argue about.

The Word of the Lord does what is most uncomfortable to our souls, yet most profitable, and only those who yield will be saved. Our husbands need their grounds shifted, and their minds sifted through God’s renewal.

The Word just doesn’t comfort, but it is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God [your husband], may be competent, equipped for every good work.

We ought to pray that the Lord will work in our husbands mind, soul, body and spirit. Make them so uncomfortable around sin, it’s deceitfulness, all forms of evil and temptations that would descrate God ordained altars planted in our husbands hearts.

Heavenly Father in Jesus name, I thank you for your husband. I once again bring him before your throne of mercy and grace.

Your faithfulness runs from generation to generation. You are full of love and perfection.

I pray that you will work on my husband today. That he will have your discernment.

Discernment to know when sin is encroaching at his door and utmost power to refuse it’s deceitfulness and flee temptation, by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Give him a bold faced, soul changing, heart rending type of faith in the face of sin.

May he be part of the remnant that testifies that indeed men can be honourable, gracious, loving, kind, faithful, generous, untainted, and still enjoy their masculinity patterned by you.

May he not walk in the counsel of the wicked, stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the sit in the seat of mockers.May you give him a heart’s resolve to follow you wholeheartedly.

May he delight in you.
Create in him this day, a clean heart, and renew the right spirit within him. Take not your Holy Spirit from him.

In Jesus name I pray,
