Isaiah 61:3

…and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.

Oaks are known to be such massive trees. They can live well, standing strong through years uncountable. Some are known to live well over1000 years.

They are so deep-rooted that a tree can take up over 400 litres of water a day. Can you imagine that. Through all seasons, an oak tree can survive all those fickle cycles. Storm’s blast doesn’t shake it a bit.

The Lord has promised us that we shall be established as Oaks of righteousness. A right standing with God that is unshakable through all life’s seasons and cycles. Imperturbable.

See life can hand our husbands a gourd of bitter bile. Each moment can be a moment of trial, tossed to and fro by the winds of life. Like Job, trails could come their way that threaten to yank off their faith in Christ.

I have seen many abandon the narrow way for what seems non committal and comforting to the flesh. But in all, there is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death _ Proverbs 14:12.

This is what we should pray about. That our husbands will not lean on their own understanding, but that they will accept and surrender to be a planting of the Lord.

That the Lord will make them intentional in displaying Christ in their day to day endeavours. That they will live, breathe and have their being in Christ. That whatever they do in word or in deed will be all to the glory and honor of the Lord.

That they will count it all joy when they face trials for the glory of what is to come, the fruit of patience _James 1:2-3, from the Oak of righteousness.

The Lord cannot plant a bad seed. He cannot plant what He cannot tend to. He cannot plant what He will not guard. He cannot plant what He knows will not display Him.

In Christ our husbands can be like Oak trees of righteousness, that is ‘rooted and established in love’_Ephesians 3:17, and drawing ‘water from the wells of salvation’ Isaiah 12:3.

They will be secure through every season’s change, withstanding savage winds of scorn and mockery for their salvation, unshakeable, unperturbed, nurtured in the Spirit’s flow because they are the Lord’s planting, His seed.

Heavenly Father, in Jesus name, I thank you for my husband this day.

Lord you call him an Oak tree of righteousness, and on this day Lord, I come in agreement with that name that you call him Jesus name.

I call him an Oak of righteousness, your planting, for you have established him.

May what he does reflect you. May how he lives display you. May what he says glorify you. May how he lives speak of you.

May his life be a resounding echo of your everlasting greatness. I declare and decree that he’s is planted in you. He is gleaning from you. He is living for you. He is breathing in you. In you is his being.

In Jesus name I pray,
