Proverbs 16:16
How much better to get wisdom than gold!To get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver
Proverbs 4:18
If you prize wisdom, she will make you great. Embrace her, and she will honor you.

Do you know that a wife brings unto her husband favour? Do you know wisdom brings one favour?

Do you know a wife who fears the Lord is more precious than rubies? Do you know getting wisdom is better than gold?
Do you know God regards WISDOM as a SHE?
Now you know how God isn’t a sexist.

Well as I pondered about this, it’s interesting to note that wisdom is not just given, but one must desire it and get it.

Just as a man pursues a woman, courts and later marries her, so is wisdom’s path too.

The verbs get, pursue and court all have the same end or result. One obtains what is being pursued. For you to obtain it, you have to stretch out, move out, walk out, to “get.”

So the Bible doesn’t just tell us to sit down pretty, hands folded legs crossed, waiting for wisdom to come by, but we must get out of our comfort zones and get it!

In Acts 6, when the number of disciples was increasing, the Hellenistic Jews, complained against the Hebraic Jews because their widows were being overlooked in the daIily distribution of food.

So seven men, who were known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom were given the responsibility to cater to the them and all their issues.

Wisdom is the application of the knowledge and understanding that one gets after seeking the wisdom.

Our husbands need godly wisdom to lead us according to God’s will, otherwise we risk running aground without it. We risk aborting God’s plan for us, or we risk it being harvested before the season of fruit.

Wisdom gives a husband life_Proverbs 24:14.

Wisdom will help him solve difficult situations _Acts 6:3

Wisdom will help him make the most of every opportunity_Ephesians 5:15-16

Wisdom will help him be peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere._James 3:17

Wisdom will help him know how to act towards outsiders; and how to answer you!_ Colossians 4:5-6

Wisdom will help him accept commands, welcome advice and godly counsel_Proverbs 13:10

Wisdom will guard him against the immoral woman and from the seductive words of the promiscuous woman. _Proverbs 2:16

Wisdom will help him wisdom build a house with you and establish it through understanding_Proverbs 24:3-7

Wisdom will keep his wealth intact, it will not be squandered by prostitutes_Proverbs 29:3

Wisdom will help him be a godly Father and bring up godly children_Proverbs 2

See wisdom cuts across every facet of a man’s life, your husband.

We need to pray that they will get wisdom and pursue it.

How? First, in prayer. That they will be prayerful men, for God gives it generously to anyone who asks. James 1:5

Secondly, they should desire it. We ought to pray that they will desire wisdom above the vain riches, for wisdom does bring that eventually.

Thirdly, they must seek it. Through reading God’s word, reading books and investing in Godly company of fellow men who will build them.

We ought to pray that they will desire knowledge. Not just the gossip in the tabloids or sitting down hours on end watching nothing that edifies their souls.

Ofcourse not through nagging or being quarrelsome, but through prayer and adapting disciplines that they will desire to emulate.
If you haven’t adopted this disciplines as a wife, I encourage you to do so. We preach at home with our actions, seldom our mouths.

Get wisdom, and pray that your husband will get wisdom too! Then, Repeat!

Heavenly Father in Jesus mighty name, I thank you for the wisdom you freely give to whosoever that seeks of it.

I pray that my husband will desire this godly wisdom. May he be stirred up to court and pursue her.

Pray that he will gain understanding and godly insight about our marriage, our family, our children, our businesses, his interactions, his friends, his family, his ministry, his career, his future, his present, his plans, his goals.

Lord may you give him wisdom to number his days and make every effort count.
Give him wisdom to keep our home and shield our marriage from the allures of the world.

Give him wisdom to raise up our little ones in your divine ordinances.

What can’t you do Lord. You are able. Your hand is not too short to do great and wonderous things, above what i can comprehend, beyond what I can fathom, surpassing my capacity to think and overshadowing all other imaginations i have.

Lord move in my husband’s life. I surrender to you. Overhaul his whole life. Turn him inside out and remove anything that could be a hindrance to the plans you have for him.
I pray in Jesus name, Amen
