Remember when you were dating? Remember the things that you told each other, especially the things that he told you he wants to achieve maybe in 2, 5, 10 years?

Then life happens. It happens to even the best of us. We find ourselves at turns and bends that we didn’t anticipate. I totally understand.

We get disillusioned along the way, responsibilities take the front pew, marriage plunges into a rut and somehow, you two get stuck on the same predictable path years on.

The bibles says that wherever there is no vision, people perish. That still holds in marriage. When a family lacks vision of where they are going to –and take no steps towards rehabilitating the situation, then it results to a marriage that is simply enduring, but not thriving.

Consider an a sculptor, or a potter. A sculptor does not begin to carve out an image from his stone without having a clear vision of his end product. Of course in the process, he can make adjustments and refine his idea, but the blue print remains.

Vision is what will keep you both grounded, vision is what will help you sail through the lowest ebbs of marriage, vision is what will stir the impetus to change when you run aground.

You only need to ‘run with his vision’ by being his greatest cheerleader and supporting him through it all.
There’s no two step formula to it, no magic wands involved, just your joyful heart giving radiance through your support.

You dear wife, are graced enough to be the one support that would catapult your husband to places he would never have thought of and his engine will run on your oil of kindness and love.

If he seems resigned, be the grace to help him bring into remembrance all that he envisioned to do.
Instead of criticizing him, encourage him to try again and remind him of your support.

It doesn’t matter the surrounding circumstances or the conditions that are prevailing around you two. If you run with his vision, you are not only demonstrating a heart of a goldy woman, but a Kingdom heart.

A heart that refuses to give up. A heart that refuses to be confounded by the world – but a heart that presses on towards the mark of the high calling.

A heart that endures all things, believes all things and hopes for all things. A heart like Christ’s. That is goal.

VERSE OF THE DAY: Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.

D.I.Y: Write down a card list of his vision. Things that he has told you he wants to accomplish. Remind him that he can still do it and more so, encourage him to ‘go for it!’

Go point: Encourage him, more so, be very vocal about his strengths’!

Lord Jesus,

I thank you for our marriage. Thank you for my husband’s vision for us. I admit that I have not been supportive and even gotten so passive about it, leaving him alone to work through the struggles and pains alone.

I admit that I have been a constant pecker at his failures and our stagnation yet you called us to be ONE in everything.

Lord Jesus, help me put down this robe of self-absorption and work for my marriage. Help me run with my husband’s vison even when I don’t feel like.

Help me support him even when he has disappointed me. Help me hedge his heart from more disappointments by being ONE with him in our vision.

In Jesus name I pray.
