Day 7
That we would rejoice in each other in marriage.

Let your fountain be blessed, and rejoice in the wife of your youth,

Proverbs 5:18
As we were driving home yesterday, we began reminiscing our 10 years down the line. We began reliving our courtship and consequently our marriage.
The Bible says, Let your fountain be blessed, and rejoice in the wife of your youth,
What is to rejoice?  To rejoice is to be glad, happy, joyous and delighted.  It’s the Lord’s will, that we will rejoice and be delighted in our marriages.
It’s the Lord’s will that we delight in our spouses for its one thing that safeguards our marriages against the ready temptations.
It’s tempting to read the verse as;
Let your fountain be blessed, and rejoice in the wife WHO IS YOUTHFUL, but that’s not what the Bible says. 
The Bible says that he should rejoice in the WIFE OF YOUR YOUTH. I would like to point it out too, that you should rejoice in the HUSBAND OF YOUR YOUTH.
We cannot stay young forever. I am 10 years older since I met my husband. Life moves on fast, responsibilities catch up and it’s easy to get stuck in a rut.
It’s no wonder that may marriages breed boredom as soon as they settle.
You long for those times when he could follow you unrelentingly, those times he could just stare at you and tell you how beautiful you looked.
He longs for those times that you could text him often, reminding him how strong and macho he is. The Lord reminds us today, to look at each other through the eyes of youthfulness.
To look at each other and remember why you both feel in love.
Think back before you were both caught up in the humdrum of life that sometimes takes a toll on us, slowing down our pace or grinds us to a halt. Look at each other and remember.
Nothing is lost. If both of you decide to rekindle the flame back, it will light up.
Years bring on maturity, more understanding, patience and tolerance. Take advantage of that and build on that foundation.
Dream together.
Have fun together.
Set aside time, deliberately, for both of you.
Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you new ways of pleasing each other.
Oh yes the Holy Spirit can.
You are both human with weaknesses, and can be tempted to dwell on what is wrong.
But what about the 80% that is right?
Look at each other and think about these, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
No nagging Mrs.
No complaining Mrs.
No harshness Mr.
No criticism Mrs.
No ignoring Mr.
No cold war.
Look at each other again, and rejoice in each other through the eyes of youthfulness and love. Nothing out there will give you the needed satisfaction.
Another flame will only serve as a temporary crutch, so fan your marriage instead.
Lord Jesus, 
We thank you for our marriage. Lord it’s easy to feel ignored and bored, when stuck in the same cycle of life. The cares of this world easily take the place of our spouses.
Help us to appreciate every single thing about each other. 
Help us to remember what attracted us to each other. 
Help us to fan our love and rekindle those moments back. 
Teach us Holy Spirit to love and care for each other. Teach us new ways of pleasing each other. 
We thank you Lord for you have done it.
