DAY 1; THAT HE WOULD FIND HIS IDENTITY IN GOD AND LET GOD BE HIS COUNSEL
Blessed is the man, who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take, or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither.
God created us with an innate need to have “bosom buddies”, but sometimes, the friends that define our men are totally wrong, giving them a wrong identity.
Most of the time, I have found men struggling with their identity.
Trying to fit in with whatever bewildering pleasures the world gives.
Apparently the world says that if a man isn’t having sex, drinking, having a third wheel around, or whatever other thing…it is simply not “normal “.
Well, the world doesn’t need normal.
Normal is cliché. It doesn’t tick.
Normal is boring!
The world needs extraordinary brothers!
Extraordinary is a brother who has chosen to cut off anything that doesn’t add value to him.
Extraordinary is a brother who sticks to his decisions no matter what the world will say.
Extraordinary is a brother who sources from the main valve, Christ.
Extraordinary is a brother who has made God his God. The world needs extraordinary men!
Sometimes we tend to generalize our prayers, bundle them up and “deliver” them to God.
Of course He hears, but I have found peace when I get specific with what I want the Lord to do for me.
The devil is not in the details, God is.
He deals with specific needs, at His own pace and time.
So pray that your husband will find his identity in Christ. He needs to know the Lord.
Be a man after God’s own heart. He should take daily a dose of Jesus. He should drink from the unending living waters.
Because Christ is the only one who can teach him to be a MAN!
As he partakes of Christ, the Lord trims his rough edges, leaving him as mellow as our Lord Jesus.
Not his fellow men, his friends, high school mates, not his material possessions, and certainly not his college buddies.
It is God first.
Lord Jesus, I come before you humbled at your throne of mercy.
I know am a sinner. Wash me and cleanse me by your blood that you shed for me on Calvary.
Jesus, I pray for my husband. That Lord he would get his identity from you.
Let not his friends define him, his job or his status. Let not anything define him save for you Lord.
Teach him your ways Lord.
Teach him to be a man. Show him your blueprints.
Hold his hand, change every mindset that the world could have inculcated in him before we met or even now.
Ground him to be as that tree that yields in and out of season.
Let him find answers in you alone when he is in a dilemma.
Give him the strength to refuse any lures the world can give him. Give him the strength to say no and wage war against sin and all it’s decorations.
Give him a ferocious desire to seek your counsel, for only you can show him the way.
Fill him with your wisdom, wisdom to guide me as his wife, wisdom to lead us as his family.
Let him know you Jesus. Let him desire you alone. May he drink from you. Shape him. I cannot do it save by you Jesus.
I refuse every power of darkness against him, against our marriage, against our name, our reputation, our image.
I subject every demonic force under our feet for we have the power and authority through you Jesus. I cut him off from every evil that lurks around him.
I sever every cord, present or past that could entangle him in the Name of Jesus Christ!
I decree and declare peace in his heart, peace at his work place, peace with me, peace with our baby, peace in his ministry in Jesus name.
Lord may He love you more, for only you can teach him how to love me. Lord may you be his head.
Straighten every crooked path in his life in Jesus name. Teach him, pummel him, mold him, use him and give him abundant wisdom to gently lead me.
I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ.
