Day 6
That we will be just in our undertakings for the sake of our families.
Proverbs 15:27

Whoever is greedy for unjust gain troubles his own household, but he who hates bribes will live.

The Bible talks about a covetous man as a man who is and will be troubled.
You see, a man who wears the cloak of courteousness hides under the mask of being a good provider, doing it all to secure the family’s future, basically frugality and thriftiness.
The Bible warns us against being courteous. It’s a sin that easily besets. It’s subtle but it’s effects will be well felt up-to five generations down.
The word of Lord is true and He exalts His word above His name. Herein lies the counsel that should be taken seriously.
Can you imagine troubling your spouse because your unjust gains? Can you imagine your children having to bear the brunt of your corrupt ways?
It’s well and in order to desire a good life. The Bible clearly tells us that Christ came that we may live life in abundance, but when our desires have us and consume us, that we covet more than our needs, then we are “greedy of gain. ”
When we exclusively put ourselves first and exclude anyone else who is more needy, then we are “greedy of gain. ”
When we are pained more by material gain and look out for ways to amass wealth to ourselves, then we are “greedy of gain. ”
Such is what the Lord abhors.
We invite trouble to our house, our children and the generations to come.
Be contented with what the Lord has given you and work out your talents, labor for more.
Be just in all you do, that you may live.
Your character will live.
You will be counted as a man of integrity.
A good name is better than silver or gold.
Lord Jesus,
We are humbled at your feet. It’s easy to get mixed up in all the worldly gains and forget so easily about you Lord.
We may think that we are securing our families future, but in actuality, we are inviting trouble in.
Help us to not only run away from sin, but hate it as well.
Help us to be counted faithful by you.
Help us to flee the allures that material gain brings because it’s all vain.
Help us live by Faith, knowing that you will and can provide for our needs.
Nothing is impossible with you Lord.
You are the owner of silver and gold.
You own a cattle on a thousand hills.
The world and fullness of it belongs to you.
You are sovereign. We put our hope and trust in you.
In Jesus name.
