So many people ask me how i handle being a military wife with all it’s demands and pressure and my only answer is, HIS GRACE!
You see, if there’s one thing that people (most Christians, if not all Christians have never understood – and refuse to understand is the concept of Grace.)
In a world full of performancism, it’s easy to get drowned by one’s accomplishments and forget to see that it’s all about GRACE!
We are quick to offer a lip service and shout out aloud “His grace is sufficient”, yet everyday we live a life of “God helps those who help themselves.”
There’s no group that has the biggest compulsion and push to live a life without grace as Christians!
We believe in grace a lot, but fail to believe on having grace alone!
That inability to comprehend that it’s all grace, has made us condition ourselves to a life of chasing down all for help instead of looking up to the One for help.
We walk around condemned, we run around proving our worth to the Lord by our good actions, we get drained by living a life without a love that compels us to receive from the Lord.
We have made Christianity and salvation a hub of “do something for Jesus” instead of “Jesus already did it all for you.”
The result of all this, is a vicious cycle of Pharisaical Christians, stuck in religious beliefs, pegged down by performancism instead of His unbridled, boundless grace.
We have made so many people walk away -some even running – away from the church not because Jesus isn’t enough, but because the church walked away from Jesus along time ago and have no marks of grace, just pride and self-preservation.

GRACE is a gift from the Lord to us, not because we were worth it, or did something good to the Lord. It was because of His love to us. Yet, we don’t take it.
So yes grace sustains our salvation and you don’t need to prove to the Lord that you are worthy of His love!
Grace is gift for the tired and weary and I get to that state often – but His grace refills me.
Grace sustains our marriage. We are not perfect. We fight and argue but His grace constantly reminds us that we received His gift without proving our worth and so we should extend the same to each other – no matter how crushed we feel then – holding no expectation of perfection!
Grace is what helps me to submit and the same grace helps Him to love – living out our God given roles ie opportunities to serve each other.
Grace, gives the opportunity for forgiveness to thrive. It’s not a compensation for how “good” we are to each other, but it’s a mirror that reflects and illuminates our weaknesses that God needs to perfect.
Grace, is not for the “good me”, or the “good us”, it’s for the rugged, torn, trodden, sinful self – and it constantly whispers to my spirit that am worth it and all I need is to get up and try again!
Grace is what keeps us! Grace is what God longs for us to receive willingly!
How liberating it is to receive the grace of God without pegging our every day performance on it.
Grace is how we live. Grace is what we breath. Grace is what keeps us from falling and grace is what sustains us in our singleness or marriage.
The grace of God is unbridled, unbroken, boundless and eternal! Get off the treadmill of being yoked to a performance based love and rest in the confidence of God’s love for you – He says, “come as you are! “
