I have watched the masses tear down a lady, and engaging in a diatribe against her, for making a mistake- let’s call it a miss.
I have also seen them at the same time, protect her.
Of course we are all entitled to our own opinion and it’s important to…but here is my stand, dear Miss, know your worth!
Yes we are sinners!
Trust me, am a firm believer of the power of forgiveness and Christ being a forgiving Lord too.
He came for sinners, He didn’t come for the self-righteous!
No one is righteous, and we only obtain it through the righteousness of Christ.
I have walked the path of guilt, the path of clinging onto relationships that slowly drained my relationship with God.
But, at the same time I have walked the path of finding my worth, a path of trusting the Lord, a path of ultimate surrender and being a loner, and the latter is much easier, and more fulfilling.
So I have heard 20s’ are about being bold, reckless and making mistakes…
Mhhhhh…Personally, I beg to differ.
I am not differing because of any prejudices, no.
I differ because we have the self-will to choose.
Instead, we relegate the truth to the periphery, hold onto a lie and it keep reciting it more often than not, till it becomes a “truth.”
I differ because of this; Shadrack, Meshack, Abednego and Daniel were 17 years when they were captured by the Babylonians and taken to Babylon, but they CHOSE TO REMAIN STEADFAST IN THEIR FAITH.
It was not easy, they were teenagers for Christ sake!
You will tell me, times have changed, but Miss, there’s nothing new under the sun.
Am sure they could spot beautiful ladies, am sure they had pressure from their peers to engage in raging wantonness, am sure they had lots of hormones, galore!
I mean they were 17!
An age where we are “excused” because mostly we are young and foolish.
Babylon was a city where no one believed in God. At least in Kenya, 80% are Christians, so they say.
They were the only remnants.
The Bible says, Daniel 1:1-17, this being verse 8,
“But Daniel made up his mind that he would not defile himself with the king’s choice food or with the wine which he drank; so he sought permission from the commander of the officials that he might not defile himself.”
They purposed in their hearts not to eat of the king’s food, and never to engage in any of their rituals.
They even made their commanders aware!
I marvel at such boldness! Those 4 men prayed and took a stand. Period.
No Grey areas.
So why are we so okay decorating mistakes?
Making them “normal or usual” as if they should readily happen?
We can all decide as young men and women to be remnants. Refusing to compromise on any of our standards and principles.
Unfortunately, we are ok with whatever happens. We keep redoing the same thing in the name of “Jesus forgives”, “His grace is sufficient for all.”
Yes he does, every day, but He still says we shouldn’t keep sinning intentionally just because we are under the dispensation of grace.
Making a mistake is ok, repeating it, now that’s fatal.
Ladies, know your worth. Money fades, money goes, and money has wings, really large spread out wings at that. It flies.
Material things are vain!
The Bible says in Proverbs 22:1 that;
“A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.”
Beauty fades, [those boobies will sag, and your face will automatically show those fine wrinkles we all work to keep them away], but a woman who has her strength from above is ever constantly renewed.
Her glow is ever constant. I think a time is now where the Lord seeks true worshippers, who will worship Him in truth and in Spirit.
Not just with their melodious voices, but with their daily living, their daily walk.
Money will make you happy, momentarily, but at the end, you need more than the superficial!
Even that man, you keep clinging on won’t make you happy. True happiness comes from knowing your worth!
The Bible talks of having Godliness with contentment.
Be that!
How about waking up and hustling for a job like any other person.
How about learning to Trust in the Lord of all creation. The Lord who can open doorways for you.
How about not compromising, and let God prove He is God by waiting on Him to give you a job without spreading your legs for a man who will not commit to marriage, just sex.
How about letting go of that guy who only wants you for sex? You wash his underwear, scrub his hard jeans, cook whatever he wants.
Some of you are even abused physically, beaten, yet you are in a tiny cubical in Campus!
He is a serial reveler, a party animal and you are up the whole night waiting up for him like a “wife”, only that you are not.
You raise the issue and dismisses your talks as the ravings of a hysterical you.
Let him goooooo!
Cut him off and out!
Let him go sister! You are too expensive for such.
How about letting go of those “sponsors” and bad relationships and trusting God even when you are all alone in the valley.
Knowing too well that He still the God of the valley and still remains Ebenezer in the valley.
How about quitting finding and looking for a man, sitting strategically at Java to catch the eye of any man who walks in, and concentrate on being the right you.
You want the right man, be the right girl.
You want to be found by your man, be the right lady.
Save yourself the time and the headache.
Marriage is not a casual association, a superficial test or trial “thing”. It’s definitely not “a toe in the water” test.”
Marriage will be your lifetime work.
A mutual inseparable bond.
It’s your job, you need to pre-qualify him before asks to supplies any goods to you gal!
Know your worth sisters. Trust me, as much as that shall be your prerogative and yours alone, it matters who you marry.
Your success in building a future with someone, is highly correlated to whom you chose to walk this path with.
No wonder we are told to take time, marriage is not a sprint race, it’s a long long marathon.
You need to be a Ruth, steadfast in your decisions, Boaz will find you, and keep you.
A man will definitely make time for anything he is interested in. That I can promise you.
So give yourself the self-worth and the attention you deserve.
True love finds it’s way after the sparks, the dazzling flamboyance and uncontrolled flames die down.
Remember gal, true love is not contingent upon reciprocity. True love has its depth beyond the endorphin rush.
It’s never late for God to give you a “take-two”
Love is a VERB. Just read 1st Corinthians 13, when you have time.
Proverbs 27:6
Wounds from a sincere friend are better than many kisses from an enemy.
Know your worth.
Make a decision to be the only remnant even when the world has set its standards.
That is my stand.
