MY JOURNEY OF MOTHERHOOD – THE LORD’S PROMISES
He woke up again to check on her.
She hadn’t had an easy night and the day was rough too.
Her fever spiking up and down, gloomy and not herself in anyway.
We all know that a sick child is not a cup of tea to any parent. It can weigh down so heavily on you.
As my hubby snuggled back to our bed, I couldn’t help but ask a thousand questions.
“Is her temperature okay bae?” – “Yes it is hunnie.”
“Is she too cold?” – “She’s fine baeby. Get some rest.”
“Can I check on her?” – “Hunnie, get some rest, am on it. Okay?”
“Okay, thank you love.”
Well my mind wasn’t too settled until he said, “God’s promises are sure, she will wake up well.!”
Hebrews 10:23 is the word.
Let us seize and hold tightly the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is reliable and trustworthy and faithful [to His word];
Isn’t it in our human nature to think that we can control the outcome of situations?
I struggle with control alot.
When faced with an issue, immeadiately, my goal is find the means out of the situation rather than process what God is trying to teach me through the situation.
It’s not always permanent, but it feels so even if it’s for a few hours. I want out. Easy is my comfort space. I hardly like to glory in my trials.
Even now, I want our baby healed ASAP. But as time goes by, am learning to hold more onto the promises of God rather than bend towards my “fixing instincts.”
We have been through harder seasons and God has always showed up at the very hour when we thought we were dead and gone.
He has promised to heal, lift, protect, guide, lead, provide and more. His word has no expiry date – it’s ACTIVE and LIVING.
Pry your fingers open again and again, release off the control.
Instead, TRUST in HIS UNWAVERING PROMISE of HOPE.
Hope isn’t a word the world knows.
Hope isn’t a word the itchy ears hear.
Hope is word for the READY and the SURRENDERED at heart.
Do not expect to be understood when you have have hope. You have the Heavenly backing, it’s all you need.
Hold fast onto Christ and His word.
