Today we happened to be in a place where our phones automatically blocked the network when we got close to the area.
We couldn’t make calls, text, nothing. Well, we had to wait until we were out of the area to “connect back to the world! ”
If you are “people person “, this will be a hard one for you but it’s the truth.
It is a daunting task, but at the end, it will save you, save your time, your marriage, your vision, and well, you can thank me later.
Certain seasons of your life require restricted access.
Ask yourself, who is with you, when, and why and what value are they adding to you when they are around?
Trust me, you need to have some shutdown at times.
You need to decern demands!
Not everyone demands your time everytime!
Not everything needs your time anytime!
Not everything requires your attention always!
Not everyone requires your presence all the time!
Even Jesus knew that.
#Luke 8:40-56
Look, Christ was on the way to heal Jairus ‘s daughter when the woman with the issue of blood touched the helm of his garment.
He didn’t snub, or shut if off like it’s another “event “, he STOPPED, and looked around for that person who demanded his #ATTENTION then.
It was the woman.
#Luke 8:30-31
30 At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?”
31 “You see the people crowding against you,” his disciples answered, “and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?’ ”
He knew when to act and why.
Later, he arrived at Jairus’s house and dismisses the crowd, only to enter with Peter, James and John!
Christ had his inner circle too!
#Luke 8: 37-41
37 He did not let anyone follow him except Peter, James and John the brother of James.
38 When they came to the home of the synagogue leader, Jesus saw a commotion, with people crying and wailing loudly.
39 He went in and said to them, “Why all this commotion and wailing? The child is not dead but asleep.”
40 But they laughed at him.
After he put them all out, he took the child’s father and mother and the disciples who were with him, and went in where the child was.
41 He took her by the hand and said to her, “Talitha koum!” (which means “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”).
42 Immediately the girl stood up and began to walk around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished.
Yeah! Jesus told the crowd! Now off you people!
Why did he do that? Because not everyone will understand certain seasons of your life!
Not everyone requires to know what is happening in your life- because they won’t pray for you, instead, they will gossip around!
Dismiss the drama girlfriend!
Dismiss the crowd!
Sieve the phonebook!
Sieve your friends!
There are those who come into your life for a season and it’s okay to let them go after the season is over!
Some of you are ever everywhere, functional but unfruitful.
You are always on call!
It’s not a bad thing but is it worth your time? Is it worth your investment? Is it worth your attention?
We want to gain acceptability at the expense of YOU.
Definitely it’s easier to gravitate towards everyone on your radar, thinking that they will do the same to you.
…but the hard lesson of life, is that they won’t.
Learn to decern seasons.
There are those who come to stay, others to teach you a lesson or two, others to strengthen you for a particular time, others to be your destiny pushers, and I love the last category of them that push you towards Christ, either by encouraging or rebuking you – or by stabbing your back! Haha!
At times, put up the sign. NO GO ZONE! This is PRIVATE PROPERTY!
Put up the sign “THIS IS A PROTECTED AREA! ”
Not every season of your life has everyone!
Learn to decern demands!
