Another squirm, another shift, another diaper change, another cry…
Motherhood has been an equally exciting, yet challenging journey for me. It has not only challenged me physically, but more so, spiritually.
I remember years back thinking, “how hard can this motherhood and parenting thing be?”
Then with the onset of our first child, I realized that the journey requires a great deal of patience, grace, determination, courage, endurance and – constantly plugging in.
We need to know that we cannot take our children to places we have never been.
We cannot usher them into courts we have never opened their gates to.
We cannot place them on path[s] we have never walked on.
We cannot force them on a journey we have never embarked.
The world cares less whether they are 2 years old, or 20. The enemy lurks around to kill their spirits and consequently line up their souls as his prized trophies. At the end of the day, it matters who outpours on them and what is outpoured on them.
We are their first contact and last contact, we hold the line, so my question to you fellow mom is, what do you outpour to them?
Mommas’, we wear so many hats. Too many things compete for our attention. We cannot assume that we are giving the best, away from the enabling power of the Holy Spirit.
We need to continuously plug in into the endless supply of the power of Christ. Only then can we be sure that we are dissipating the same to our children.
Our supply will never run low, neither will it run out, if we plug into Him.
Away from Christ, everything else pales – simply bland existence, unknown to the majesty of what would have become if only Christ took the reins!
Let’s plug in into Christ Mommas’!
Our Father awaits with open arms, to refill us for the next step of this journey. It’s not a journey of the fast, but steadfast at heart.
