Marriage is good. Marriage is beautiful.

Marriage has a price tag called SACRIFICE – just as CHRIST DID!
The problem is wanting the fruits without willing to “plant”, “dig”, and “prune.”

The truth is, there’s no other tool, if used correctly, can draw us closer to the Father than marriage.

Our spouses, your spouse, should be used of God as a tool to draw you closer to Christ, and draw out the Christ like character in you.

A Good marriage, the best marriage is not one that’s without fault.

As a matter of fact, most of them are plagued with issues to sort at every side.

God created marriage in the garden of Eden and made it beautiful.
He saw that it was not good for Adam(man) to be alone and created another being for him.

She was the “bone of his bones” and “flesh of his flesh.” She was called the woman.

A good marriage, the best marriage, can only be achieved when two decide to be one.

To leave and cleave to each other.

A good marriage, the best marriage can only become profoundly beautiful when both parties focus first on Christ, for He alone can make a marriage stand out.

If you take your focus from Christ and focus on each other, then your spouses faults will be magnified far beyond what you can comfortably bear.

That’s is why God calls us to submit to each other out of reverence for Him.
The focus should be Christ.

I was a size 8 when I got married. I always had a small body frame. . .I could rock my swimming costumes without hiding my belly. My abs were tight since I was also keen on exercise.

Then motherhood happened.

My belly stretched out so much that I ended up getting a medical condition called diastasis rectic. It's basically where the abdominal muscles tear and seperate completely. Worse, I had a Cesarean delivery and due to the separation, the healing process was painful. My back was so bend in.

Basically, I was warped. In every way possible. I couldn't move, my back was strained. I had two options, surgery or physical exercise.
We opted for the latter. . .Motherhood has a way of stripping you down. Your body is a map of who you are.

It might bear the scars of pregnancy and childbirth or your heart might bear them from loving a child you didn’t physically carry.

Your eyes might be dark and heavy, hinting at the sleepless nights you’ve spent caring for little ones. Your hands may be more wrinkled, showing you’ve cradled, caressed, and worked hard to serve your children. Your back might be sore from carrying the child who just wants to be close. Motherhood can be rough.

Today, mama, let God gently hold you where you are worn and remind you that no matter your physical weariness, he is cultivating within you the unfading beauty of a quiet and gentle spirit.

Don’t look at yesterday and long for how your body was. Instead, look at how far you have come. Look at how this body has served you and remember that what is most precious to God is the beauty that comes from within.

His work in your heart is far more valuable than anything outward could ever be.

Don't wallow in self pity.

Eat healthy, keep the junk food at a minimal level. Take a gym class if you can, take long walks, do a morning run, listen in to what uplifts your spirit, enjoy your spouse, make memories together, laugh out loud, take some time to rest, but most importantly, enjoy the season you are in. . .

#LETTER :To a mama #struggling with miscarriages,

Just the other day, after my 3rd and 4th miscarriage, my gynaecologist told me, "Mary, it's not yet done."

It was a Holy moment for me personally, since I had reached another point of surrender. I was ready to take on anything that God has planned for me.

I cried, wiped my tears, Johnny held me close and we continued matching on with the God given conviction, girding our loins. At His own time, we will. . .
And if He doesn't will either, we will still enjoy what God has given us.

I know how easy it is to give up.
We miss the joy of marriage trying so hard to get pregnant. We adjust our positions to have the right angle for conception. We take on concoctions and drugs.

While nothing about the aforementioned is wrong, it has a way of robbing you the joy of marriage, of partnership, while struggling to be an assistant to God.

We forget that God, through the power of the Holy Spirit, made a virgin conceive.

He's the one who opens up our wombs and if He closes them, He's still God.

The process is painful, and it is difficult not to focus on the loss, because we can’t see the end result that God has in mind. Sometimes the transformation process of grief and waiting is the only way we can become who God intends us to be. I know that for sure.

Having it all, but refusing to lay it down, is the greatest crisis of faith. Surrender is the way to freedom, and in that freedom, God is able to write His story of redemption in our lives.

I am praying wholeheartedly for you as you make your decision.

I want to be in the story God is writing. I want to slowly uncurl my fingers from the desires I have for myself, and open my hands filled with all the broken pieces. I want to place those pieces at the feet of Jesus and stand in awe of what He creates with them.

So today, in your tears and pain. In sorrow and in fear. In an unbearable pain, or in a quandary, surrender it all to Jesus. Enjoy the sunshine. Enjoy the nature walk. Enjoy your spouse. Breathe close to them.
Enjoy that cup of coffee. Be glad, and know that it's not yet done.

So much of a good marriage is tied down to good “spousing.”
When we keep each other’s love-tank full, we are better at everything—better parents, better friends, better employees, better neighbors, all because we are not in starvation mode.

So hubby and I have been at that lately.
We cleared our schedules, finished up with couples on our list and have been concentrating on us, went off social media for a while, shopping, relaxing, and having fun together, building a stockpile of memories and experiences with each other.

It allows our bond to grow even stronger because our hearts are in the same place. In today’s society, it’s easy to over-commit, at the end of the day, you will be going in opposite directions as you are both trying to get a bunch of activities done. It actually does more harm than good. So this is something we intentionally keep to a bare minimum.

Time together is of high value to us, because time is also freedom. Part of what we love to do with our time is serve together. There is nothing quite like having a “helper’s high” together.

But even as you serve, be watchful that you don't pour into your own jars too.
We are not saying that every waking moment should be spent together sharing each other’s air, but we are saying that time together needs to be a high priority.

Time is our ultimate currency. You can never get it back once it’s passed and there are no rollover minutes. Your spouse will either increase or decrease in value based on your input towards them.
If your spouse is asking for something that isn’t on your personal preference list, take time to reflect on what the deeper need is.
This will help you have compassion and grace even if you don’t resonate with the specific need itself. Listening is key to understanding and gaining insight.

As you peel the layers back, story by story, often what is found are pockets where the love they wanted to feel is missing and the attention they so deeply craved is absent. With every faithful act of love and loyalty, we begin to fill those empty spots and help them feel whole and wholly loved.
We missed you too! Our tanks are full and so are our pictures 😀.
