THE DIARY OF AN ARMY WIFE,
My man in uniform,
Today I chose to celebrate you my love. I know we (ladies) wait on for this day to be lavished and surprised and why not – we love it. It’s in us to be loved both in big and small little ways that seem insignificant – but today I choose to celebrate you.
Many might not understand why we cannot escalate an argument past the next minute, and why we preach forgiveness instead of retribution. Every second angry at each your spouse is a moment of love wasted. Why would we waste it?
Many might not understand why working out a marriage is of essence to us – after all, the world has little “me gods” around.
Hunnie, today, tomorrow and always you remain to be my valentine. Your sacrifices are immense and only God and I knows.
We really don’t have the luxury of having a normal life per say – so let me make every day a big deal, and I will.
Some will say that i chose you so I should suck up and move on.
Well, I did a long time ago! Moved on, put on my tutu skirt and got myself a new ground! Making you my love, a big deal!
Making every engagement with you, a big deal. Making every second with you, a big deal.
Making every smile, every hearty laugh, every morning, every night, every walk, every shopping, every dine out, every day, every prayer, every fellowship with you, a huge deal!
You love, are a big deal to me.
I will never cease to remind you that I will be here, through every season of our life together. As you battle out in the field, I will battle out on my knees for you.
The world doesn’t get to make our marriage work.
The world doesn’t understand how far we have come.
The world doesn’t know our sacrifices; the world doesn’t care for yours too.
The world doesn’t care if we don’t communicate for months when you are out on duty – so Hunnie, I wouldn’t care less what the world thinks about us.
You, me and Christ, get to make our marriage, our love, our bubble, our destiny work. Away from distractions, away from detractors, the crowd, the haters, the cheering squad, you and me are the only factors to us.
I celebrate you for your courage in sacrificing for your country, your staid faith in Christ, your frivolous spirit in our marriage, your zeal in your call, your unappalled devotion to me, your unwavering loyalty to our vows, your quiet and gracious love to our child, your steadfast strength in leading us, and yet with so much gentleness and love.
I love you my man in uniform, my constant wind beneath my wings! Thank you for making this woman in me BECOME!
To now, to forever, always your 2iC.
You are cherished!
