I love her cute and cuddly face when she’s all happy, smiling, hugging and kissing us all over. It’s great! But then comes a time when her little sinful heart takes over, and we have to discipline her and say NO to some of the stunts she pulls.

The curtains close. Lights out and It’s not fun anymore.

It’s not fun to discipline our children.
Our time with them is often so short that we prefer to spend it doing things that seem more loving. Yet, loving our children without discipline is not love at all.

Ultimately, it sends the message that we would rather let our children travel down a dangerous path and risk their eternal destiny than do something that might make them get mad at us – but ultimately add another beautiful piece to the picture God wants to showcase through them in future.

Failing to discipline is not love; its is fear.

True love takes courage—to face the screams, tears, temper tantrums, quivering lower lips, and still look at them and say, “I love you but this is not good now and certainly will not be good in future!”

When we truly love, we can take all these in and more because our eyes are looking beyond the temporary discomfort towards the target, which is passing on a living faith to our children.

Yes that is the goal. Passing on the baton of faith to them. The living hope of Christ in them.

Parenting isn’t just about tasks and what should be achieved, but raising full hearted children.

Remember, “The Lord disciplines those he loves” [Proverbs 3:12].
A lifestyle of discipline is really a lifestyle of love.

Discipline doesn’t kill them, it EQUIPS THEM.
