1. The indecisive man/ Double minded man.

Proverbs 7:21-22
With persuasive words she led him astray; she seduced him with her smooth talk. All at once he followed her like an ox going to the slaughter, like a deer stepping into a noose
James 1:8
A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
This type of man reminds me of a song that stood out for me about a decade ago.  The theme song to one of the most hilarious family comedy show that aired then – Malcom in the Middle.
The lyrics: “Yes, no, maybe, I don’t know.” “Can you repeat the question?”
Have you ever come across a person who is more like the song? A yes, no, maybe type of person? A person who cannot stick to his or her decisions? A person with no stand?
They are unreliable, undependable, shaky, un-grounded, more like a reed. Easily bent, easily broken, easily led astray because they cannot stand by their word. An indecisive man, is a strange woman’s candidate. She will make it her mission to bring you down – her persuasiveness will lead you down the destructive road. His double standards on issues of life is always his downfall.
You see, every decision you make more so as a man bears spiritual consequences. It’s not just enough to say No! You need to be able to say no and outlive your decisions. Decisions are your deal-breakers. Whatever you decide today will bear consequences tomorrow! Your decisions should be yours alone, not decisions pressed against you by everyone – more so your “boys.”
If you cannot put your boundaries right, she will find the loophole and exploit it. After all, you didn’t say that you are married and happily married at that! You extended the hug and she interpreted it as an invitation. You complemented her every day, and she felt led on.
Subtly, she will expand her territory and push your boundaries till you give in! That’s where we here statements like, “Sleeping with her was a mistake! I love my wife!”
It is never a mistake. It was a loophole that you ignored, knowing too well that its end will never be pretty. You failed to put off the smoldering coals of lust and the smoke of its lustful passions choked you. You gave sin a chance, and it took its leap! Sin is always deceitful, adapting to our circumstances, and a man with no discernment of Christ will easily stray!
God always speaks! He always talks to our conscience! Run away from the strange woman! Stand firm! Put impenetrable boundaries with every woman save for your bride. Do not give the strange woman a chance to break your marriage simply because you couldn’t say No.
Let not your indecisiveness and double-mindedness cost your marriage.
Let your decisions preach!
Matthew 5:37
But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.

  1. The self-righteous man

Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Selfrighteousness also called sanctimoniousness or a holier-than-thou attitude, is a feeling or display of – usually smug – moral superiority gotten from a heightened sense that one’s beliefs, actions, or affiliations are of greater virtue than those of the ‘common’ person.
Self- righteousness by all means is deceitful and a damnable sin! The word here is SELF righteousness. This is a man who is purely convinced that he cannot fall. After all, they are too grounded, too saved, to attract any ‘foreign’ intrusions!
Self-righteousness blinds and hardens one’s hearts more so to correction. I think of all vices; self- righteousness is the worst because it breeds pride. Pride is false sense of worthiness – too unworthy it is that it limits one’s sense of discernment to what they can only see. Pride took Satan down from the heavenly glory. Self-righteousness is an extreme antithesis of faith.
Sin is deceitful. Satan the father of all sins and lies knows too well your weakest links. The Bible calls him a schemer, and he is so good at it, that when sin knocks at a self-righteous man’s door, it appears as “right”. This self-righteous man will be brought down by a strange woman camouflaged in a “righteous demeanor.”
It’s no wonder, men of God have been trapped by the same women who approached them in quest of “more of Christ” in their lives.
2nd Corinthians 10:18
For it is not he who commends himself that is approved, but he whom the Lord commends.
Do not be tempted to rate yourself so highly. Faith rejoices in Christ and relies only on Christ! Self- righteousness will drive you straight to an immoral woman’s arms, under the guise of rightness to adapt herself to your “righteousness.”
Relying on your own understanding is a death trap!
